Corniche – Albert Embankment

Corniche – Albert Embankment

The Corniche apartments, situated on the Albert Embankment overlooking the Thames, stand 28 stories at their highest point.  Providing exclusive luxury dwellings, the unique curvature of the buildings give a stunning contribution to the London skyline, and commands spectacular views of Westminster and the city.

RF Fixing was appointed by Lindner Facades, for the installation of elements works on apartment Block A, including:

  • Installation of 5000m2 of curved unitised elements
  • Curtain walling
  • Rain screen cladding and balustrade glass.

The distinctive design of the building demanded a high skill level for quality and intricate hand fabrication, with bespoke engineering required to set out unique elements. With the combined challenges of working in nature's elements at height, London’s confined building environment, and the added pressure of Waterloo train lines running right behind the site, the team of 70+ worked diligently using mini cranes to ensure the project was delivered safely, within budget and to the tight timescale, without impacting adjacent critical infrastructure.

RF Fixing was further commissioned to install the balcony facades works, to minimal tolerances, for the 23 storey Block B and 28 storey Block C, including:

  • Soffits
  • Rain screen
  • Glass balustrades
  • Sliding patio doors
  • Replacement glass works

Following the success of these projects is a new commission for a link bridge between Block A and Block B, comprising GRC steel and stonework setting, and an entrance canopy to Block B.

With RF Fixing's steadfast commitment to customer satisfaction and peerless quality assurance standards, the Corniche Apartments with their exceptional façade give a timeless statement of elegance in London’s thriving Vauxhall community.
